Parker’s Photographic

I have been fortunate enough to secure a week-long work placement at Parkers Photographic in Southampton, running from the 13th to the 17th of April.

Parkers Photographic is more than just a camera shop—they offer a wide range of professional services including printing, film development, studio rental, and camera repairs. This made it an ideal placement for me, as it allows me to develop not only my photography skills but also gain insight into the commercial and technical side of the industry.During this placement, I aim to build on my existing knowledge while learning how these services are delivered at a professional level, working to real deadlines and within a structured workflow. I am particularly interested in improving my understanding of film development and printing, as well as gaining hands-on experience in a customer-facing environment.This experience will also help me develop my communication skills through direct interaction with clients in a professional setting.Throughout the week, I will be documenting my experience daily on this blog, reflecting on the skills I have learned across the 40 hours, alongside behind-the-scenes imagery from each day.
